Stairs leading to homes are a typical architectural feature of the century-old homes on Melville Avenue. In fact, the bottom of these stairs encroach beyond their property lines. The City is very tolerant in this regard.
Pumpkins growing in a garden on Melville Avenue. The seeds were, I presume, “left overs” from last year’s Halloween. In a few weeks, they should be a brilliant orange colour.
Repaving St. Catherine. In the early 1900’s trucks would pour water on unpaved streets to minimize the dust- this is like a “throw back” to that period.
The library’s “Cloak of Imagining” quilted by Lily Lam in 2007. Originally made as a costume for readers at the children’s library story time series. It is currently on display at quite a high height (for good reason) inside the library.
