In the 1970s there was a large citizen movement to save this building from being demolished. There were, at one point, plans to turn it into a number of specialty stores. Today, it houses a wine store.

In the 1970s, there was a statue, named “Acrobats” in front of this house. The issue was – they were both nude! This caused quite a discord in the city. It became both an attraction and an object for vandalism. Today, the former statue’s site is a flower bed.
