One of several Westmount Park’s Northern Catalpa trees (Southern Catalpas have an acrid smell when their leaves are bruised). Their blosooms, when they drop, look like snow!
Summer in Westmount Park always includes a weekly “Concerts in the Park” performance. It is a very “nice touch” by the City to sponsor these performances. As you can see, they bring a lot of joy to those that attend!
A largely overlooked plaque dedicated to Sgt. Major Leja. He was seriously injured while defusing a bomb (one of several), planted by the FLQ, in a letter box (on Westmount & Lansdowne Ave.) on May 17, 1963.
