Thanks for that very interesting history of Clarke Ave and how it got its name from the Clarke family. I lived there many years ago knowing nothing of its origins. Its hard to imagine that part of Montreal being a rural area . But, then I’ve seen other parts of the world transformed from green fields ( I live in Ireland) to built up urban areas in a very short time. Many of the older houses are beautiful on Dorchester Boulevard and Clarke Ave. I hope they will be retained and valued in the future.
